Baruko Ogawa is a minor character who later joins Japan's Far East branch of A.E.G.I.S.
Throughout most of her appearances, Baruko's role has been limited to being a running gag. She's usually seen near the front of the Tategami High School, when a sandstorm occurs due to the UP-15 being the cause of it as it exits the hangar from the underground. As a result, Baruko often has Marilyn Maneuver moments, with the motion of both the sandstorm and the UP-15 creating wind, and bringing updrafts to her dress. In one episode, the updraft to her dress is caused by a train passing through a station. In another, the moment also happens to female Tategami High students. When this occurs to Baruko, almost every time she says her catchphrase, "So intense!" or "Ooh, intense"!
It's not until near the series' end when, at least, her surname is revealed she finally has not only a brief but pivotal role. Where she's seen annihilating the Invaders with a bazooka and becomes an A.E.G.I.S. agent herself.
Not much is known about Baruko, but based on what she's always seen wearing, including a helmet and goggles, she seems to be some kind of racer.
- In episode 20, there is a figurine of Baruko along with other figurines in the window display of a shop.
